How the numbers work

Every working set gives an estimated one-rep max, using the Epley formula. You never have to test a true max.

Your best estimate on each lift is compared with published strength standards and adjusted for your sex, bodyweight, age and years trained. That gives a percentile on 51 lifts, worked out on your phone.

Your squat, bench press and deadlift together set your tier, from Iron to World Class.

How ranking works in detail

Try it on your last set

116.7kg

estimated one-rep max

100 × (1 + 5 ÷ 30) = 116.7 kg

Peak Fettle does this for every working set, then ranks your best on 51 lifts.

Questions

Is Peak Fettle free?

Yes. Logging, estimated 1RMs, percentiles, the tier ladder, streaks, groups, routines, widgets and Apple Health are all free. Pro adds the in-depth plan builder, recovery insights, server backup and LifeOS.

How are the percentiles worked out?

From your best estimated one-rep max on each lift, compared with published strength standards and adjusted for your sex, bodyweight, age and years trained. It runs on your phone. If you would rather not give your sex, a blended scale is used.

Where is my data?

On the free plan your workout log lives on your iPhone and works offline. Pro also stores it on our server so it survives a new phone. You can delete your account and its data from the app at any time.

Is it on Android?

Not yet. Peak Fettle is on iPhone today.

Does one Pro subscription cover the other apps?

Yes. Pro unlocks LifeOS with the same account, and Fuel and Limber are being built to use it too.

Is this medical advice?

No. Peak Fettle is a training log and tracking tool. Talk to a qualified professional before you start or change a programme, especially with an injury or a medical condition.
